Mary Janet Pierce

Mrs. Mary Janet Pierce, 83 of Hanover, formerly of St. Alban’s West Virginia and East Islip Long Island New York, passed quietly in her sleep on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Norwell Knoll Nursing Home in Norwell. The daughter of the late Edward F. and Amelia (Bitter) Graff, she was born in Dubuque Iowa on October 6, 1922. She was raised and educated in Iowa and was a graduate of the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul MN. She had been employed as a Reservation Agent for TWA and later as Executive Secretary at Cardinal Cushing School and Training Center in Hanover. She also been a volunteer at St. Mary’s Church CCD.Wife of the late, Dr. Russell W. Pierce PhD, she is survived by 3 sons, Bruce C. Pierce of Hurst TX, Richard D. Pierce of Hanover and Jonathan S. Pierce of Hanson, 2 daughters, Karin E. Pierce of Ft Meyers FL and Mary R. Peckham of Halifax, 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late David E. Pierce.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 9 AM in ST. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover Street, Rte 139 in Hanover. Interment a later time in the Mass National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours omitted arrangements by the Sullivan Funeral Home in HANOVER.
