

Maureen Ann Simmons, age 74, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 15, 2018 surrounded by her family in South Paris, Maine. Maureen was born on May 13, 1944 in Whitman, Mass. to Maurice and Rita Harmon. She was actively involved as a volunteer teachers aid in local schools and churches. She loved gardening, growing flowers, vegetables and spending time with family. She enjoyed making arts and crafts and was a very talented artist. Maureen was a devout catholic and involved in many church and bible study groups. She was Eucharistic Minister for St. Catherines Church in Norway, Maine. She was a kind gentle soul who will always be loved and remembered by all.
She was preceded in death by her sister Virginia Dwyer and husband James, brother Jack Harmon, son John C. Simmons, and son-in-law Mark Ward. She is survived by her brother Bob Harmon and wife Leona of Bridgewater, Mass, Daughter Michelle Ward, of Litchfield, Maine, son Benjamin Simmons and his wife Taryn of Standish Maine, and John E. Simmons former spouse and father of her children. Surviving grandchildren Kelsey, William, and Kaitlyn Reed, and great-grandson Billy Reed. Also grandchildren Heather, Melissa, and Kimberly Storm.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 1, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland, Mass.
