

Michael Patrick Barrett, Beloved Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Uncle and Son in Law, unexpectedly passed away on May 12, 2015. He was born in Malden, MA on St. Patrick's Day, 1965. Mike was the son of the late William J. Barrett and Carol A. Barrett. Mike graduated from Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua, NH in 1983. He was a 1987 graduate of UNH where he met his wife, Wendy. He worked at Fidelity Investments for the past 20 years. He is survived by the love of his life, Wendy (Hartrick) Barrett with whom he shared his life for more than 25 years. Mike was the proud father of two daughters, Carolyn Louise and Megan Christine. He also leaves behind his mother, Carol A. Barrett of Bedford, NH; siblings, William Barrett and his wife, Kathleen, of Spring, Texas; Jeanne Hughes and her husband, Daniel, of Bedford, NH; Michele Battaglia and her husband, James, of Derry, NH; and Christopher Barrett and his wife, Juliann, of Germany. He is also survived by his in-laws, Dr. and Mrs. Donald Hartrick of South Carolina; sisters-in-law Donna Dobrzynski and her husband, Phil, of Minnesota; and Laura Sullivan and her husband, Terry, of Wrentham, MA. He was the beloved, popular and mischievous "Uncle Mike" to numerous nieces and nephews. He was always "my Mike" to his beloved mother. Mike was an avid New England sports fan, a Red Sox and Patriots season ticket holder and took numerous road trips over the years following the teams. Mike was very involved with his daughters, particularly their sports teams and was a coach for many years for Rockland Youth Softball. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with all of his family. Mike took many trips with his friends. He knew movie lines, sports trivia, could solve a Rubik's Cube faster than everyone he knew and was right about every single factoid. Mike loved spending time with his in-laws at Squam Lake and in South Carolina. Without fail, he made the most of every single day of his life and most importantly, made everyone around him laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St in ROCKALND on Sunday from 2-6 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St. in Rockland, MA Interment will be private.
