Michael E.B. Callahan

Mr. Michael E.B. Callahan, 64 of Hanson formerly of Abington died Thursday, November 30, 2006 in the Caritas Carney Hospital in Boston after a lengthy illness. The son of the late Lester Edward and Mary Alice Bourne Callahan, he was born in Abington on September 6, 1942. He was raised and educated in Abington and was a 1960 graduate of Boston College High School and received a BA Degree in History from Boston College in 1964. Mike's career included 35 years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Social Worker and a Hearing Referee in the Department of Welfare. Mike will be dearly missed by his brother, Tom and his wife, Dorothy Callahan of Sioux Falls SD, 2 nephews, Jesse Callahan of Indianapolis ID and Joshua Callahan and his wife Denice of Sioux Falls SD, 1 niece Jamie Callahan of Sious Falls SD, a very special brother in law, Sam Shemais and his wife Maureen McMann Shemais of Hanover, 1 aunt, Maurie Callahan Colon of Maryland and many cousins and friends. He was the brother of the late Kathy Callahan Shemais. A Memorial gathering will be planned for family and friends in 2007. The family request that no flowers or gifts be sent.
