
"Everybody's Favorite" Mr. Michael C. Carey, 60, of Hanson died Wednesday, August 13, 2008 in the Morton Hospital in Taunton after a long illness. He was born in Weymouth on May 23, 1948, the son of the late Frederick and Lorraine Dalton Carey. He attended Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton and was a graduate of the Whitman/Hanson Regional High School. Mr. Carey has been a resident of Hanson for the past 38 years. He was a diesel Mechanic and the Owner of the Whaling City Marina in New Bedford Carey Power Company in Brockton and a member of the Mass Marine Trades Association. He was a Navy Veteran and a long time Brockton businessman. He was a husband, Father, Brother and Friend. He is survived by the love of his life, Rosemary T. Sacco Carey, 2 Sons, Michael J. Carey and his wife, Chan of Halifax and Steven P. Carey of Quincy, 1 Daughter, Melissa C. Welch and her husband, Kevin of Hanson, 1 Brother, William Carey of Hanover, 3 Sisters: Connie Broomfield of Washington, DC, Candace Carey of Hanover and Lorraine McCarthy of Kingston, his grandchildren Mikey, Julia and Twins, Malia and Kyle and many Nieces and Nephews. He was the brother of the late Fred J. "Rusty" Carey. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 18, 2008 at a time to be announced in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St., Rte.14 in Hanson. Visiting Hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan Street, at the corner of Rte 14 & 58 in HANSON on Sunday from 2-6 PM.
