

Michael “Mike” J. Collins, 78 of Pembroke and formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025. Born in Boston on February 4, 1947, he was the son of the late Harold and Alma (Foley) Collins.
Mike served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was on the Boston Police Department for 33 years. Mike and Helen were married on August 1, 1970 and raised their family in Pembroke. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching and playing golf, baseball, and hockey, especially as a goalie. Mike had a dry sense of humor and will be remembered as a funny, easy going man. He was well liked by all who knew him.
Mike is survived by his loving wife Helen L. (Hurley) Collins and their sons Michael Collins, Jr. and his wife Jessica of Milton and Matthew Collins and his wife Miranda of Plymouth. He is survived by his grandchildren Madison, Meredith, and Finn. Mike was the brother of the late Harold Collins, Carol Guarente, Alma Toner, and Marie Leary. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday July 1st from 4-7 PM at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, Route 53, Hanover. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday July 2nd at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Angels (St Mary’s Church), 392 Hanover Street, Route 139, Hanover. Burial will be private.
