Michael “Mike” “Fitzy” Fitzgerald, 64 of Rockland, entered eternal rest on July 5, 2020, after a brief illness. Born on December 21, 1955 in Boston, he was the son of the late Richard and Alice (Kincade) Fitzgerald. Mike enjoyed riding Harley motorcycles, playing poker, entertaining all of the grandkids, as he was just a big kid himself, and watching wrestling; a passion that he shared with his loving nephew, Teddy. Mike worked most recently at AAA as a roadside technician. He liked helping people through his work as he had a great knowledge and passion for cars. Mike previously worked for 30 years at Settles Glass and Pilkington, where he met his lifelong companion, Deb.
Michael was the beloved companion of Deborah J. McGarry. Dear step-father of Allan McGarry of Rockland, Nicole Sturgeon and her husband John of Whitman, Shannon Jarvis and her husband Andrew of Marshfield, Marc McGarry of Halifax, and Shawn McGarry and his wife Jamie of Bridgewater. Cherished grandfather of Rebekka Maiullo, Makayla and Connor Sturgeon, Dane and Zachary Peach, Marc Jr, Hailey, Rylan, Ethan McGarry and Harrison Jarvis. Dear brother of Richard Fitzgerald and his wife Janice of Norwood, Patricia McCarthy and her companion Kevin of Mashpee, Maureen Fitzgerald and her husband Michael McCoy of Plymouth and the late Edward Fitzgerald. Michael also leaves many nieces and nephews.
