Michael E. Wojdag, 46, died on February 19, 2023 as the result of an automobile accident. The family and friends are deeply heartbroken and shocked by his sudden death. There are no words to describe such a painful, significant loss. Michael was born on April 16, 1976 growing up in both Walpole, MA and Upton, MA, graduating from Nipmuc Regional High School in 1994 where he was an avid athlete.
Mike was the Director of Finance Operations for RMR Group. He took pride in his work and was proud to be part of the RMR family.
In addition to his work, Mike was a proud dad, husband, devoted son, uncle and brother. There is nothing that made Mike happier than his family. Mike married Amy (Monahan) in 2004 and had two beautiful children, Emma (16) and Ryan (14). They all meant the world to him. Every vacation, every game and every event, Mike showed up and was the proudest husband and dad in the entire room.
Ryan says he loved hearing his dad’s basketball stories from high school about rival sports teams. Emma’s fondest memory is when she was in the car with her dad, and often her friends, he would blast the song ‘You're Welcome’ while singing every word and talked about how it describes him perfectly. He was the best.
Mike’s love for his extended family was also clear. He had 8 nephews and 2 nieces, and he would make it a point to see them anytime he could whether it was sporting events, graduations or birthday parties. Mike always showed up no matter how far he had to drive.
Mike was a genuine, kindhearted soul and a tremendous Boston sports fan. He had so much fun attending sporting events. Mike attended 3 Super Bowls, including the last Super Bowl on February 12th, 2023.
Every Christmas, Mike and his nephew Bodie had a tradition on Christmas Eve of trading gag gifts in front of the families. The entire family looked forward to these exchanges because it brought a lot of laughter and joy to everyone in attendance.
It’s a gift when an individual can touch the lives of everyone they meet; Michael was that person. A great friend, the life of the party and a doting husband, father, and son. Without hesitation and genuine sincerity, he loved with all of his heart and would quietly help those who needed it most.
Michael is survived by his wife, Amy, and children Emma and Ryan, his Mom and Dad, Diane and Edwin Wojdag of Upton, MA, sister Heather Forbes and her husband Jeremy, and brother Jason and his wife Renee, and Amy’s parents, Kathleen and Hugh Monahan, and brother in law Matt Monahan and his wife Jen. He was also the greatest uncle ever to Cody Forbes, Kyle Forbes, Brady Forbes, Calley Forbes, Wyc Wojdag, Colton Wojdag, Bodie Wojdag, Reeve Wojdag, Jack Monahan and Grace Monahan.
