Patricia O'Brien

Patricia Rose O’Brien, 79 of Marshfield passed away on July 22 2025. Born on august 21 1945 in Ketchikan, Alaska. She was the daughter of the late Charles E J McCarty and Rose Clark McCarthy. She was a graduate of Boston college nursing school. After college she practiced as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She was the beloved wife of the late William Maurice O’Brien with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Together they raised 4 children

Patricia is survived by her children Sean O'Brien, Coleen Whitehead and her husband Mark, Colin O'Brien and Erin O'Brien Schwartz and her husband Benjamin

Dear sister of Mark McCarthy and his wife Kathleen, Stephen McCarthy and his wife Tina, Veronica Dearden, Teresa Flaherty and her husband Robert and Chris McCarthy and his wife AnnaMaria. She was the cherished grandmother of Tyler O'Brien, Dylan O'Brien, MJ Whitehead and Aedan Whitehead. 

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 5th at 10:00AM at Corpus Christi-St. Bernard Parish in Newton- 1523 Washington St. Burial will immediately follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Needham - 57 Wellesley Ave.  Gathering will be held at 46 Juniper Hill Road in Waltham.
