

Peter Henry Carroll, Jr. of Whitman, MA died peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s with family by his side on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Born on March 25, 1941 and raised in Jamaica Plain (Boston), Massachusetts.
Peter is survived by his loving wife Emily of 60 years, his son David and his wife Elizabeth, his daughter Susan and her husband David, his son Dennis and his wife Stephanie and Papa to his grandchildren Sam, Helena, Lydia, Kimberly, Henry, Katherine, Ryan, Kerri, Matthew and Kelsey, his sister Pamela Martin and her husband John, his late sister Lorraine Judd and her husband Gordon (Jimmy) and son of the late Peter Henry Carroll, Sr. and Helen B. Carroll (Kilroy).
He attended Boston Technical High School and graduated from Northeastern University. He had a long career working in Boston as a Business Manager for Parsons Brinckerhoff, Datsun/Nissan and Watertown Auxiliary Police. He married Emily in Boston on January 21, 1962 and moved to Watertown and then Dorchester. In 1968 they moved to Hanover which was their home until 2000 when they moved to Whitman.
Peter was a warm, compassionate, witty, honest and kind man with a great sense of humor. He loved collecting guns, target shooting at the gun club, driving around with the top down in his red Mustang. He also loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids, traveling with his family often with packing lists and daily schedules, hiking in northern New England often taking his family to New Hampshire for day trips, taking cruises with family and friends, western movies and going out to eat on Friday nights with his friends Sam, Judy, Ren and Mary.
Visiting hours will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street (Rte. 53) on Sunday, March 27th from 2-5pm. A funeral home service will be held on Monday, March 28th at 11 AM. Burial to follow at Hanover Center Cemetery.
