

Philip Emmett Owens, Jr., “Skip”, age 70 of Rockland, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Born in Weymouth on July 30, 1955, he was raised and educated in Hanover before settling in Bridgewater to raise his family with his former late wife Susan (Lanzillotta) Owens. The son of the late Philip E. Owens, Sr., and Marilyn L. (Williams) Owens. He was a hard worker; a jack of all trades. Skip spent most of his years working for various paving companies including his father in laws, Lanzillotta Paving, before starting out on his own. Later in life he worked for T&K Asphalt among others, plowing during the winter storms. He spent his final days as a handy man for a hotel in Boston.
Skip is survived by his children and their spouses Melissa and Anthony Benigno of Maui, Michael and Bonnie Owens of Marshfield, and Melanie and Matt Guiney of Norwell. He was the oldest brother to his 4 siblings: John Owens of Hanover, Janice Langton of Norton, Ricky Owens of Hanover, and Carole Malloch of Virginia. Skip is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 9 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
