Born and raised in Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Ray and Nellie Oiler Yeingst. He is survived by his brother, Robert (wife Ruth) Yeingst of Newville, Pennsylvania. Ray was the husband of the late Audrey Kellert Yeingst to whom he was married for 50 years until her death in 2010. Ray was the devoted father of Craig R. Yeingst and his wife Debra of Middleboro and Robin R. Willis and her husband Sean of Rockland. He was the beloved and cherished grandfather to Eric (wife Allie) Yeingst and Noah Yeingst and Greta and Ben Willis, who all loved their "Pop Pop" very, very much. Ray will also be lovingly remembered and missed by his companion of the past several years Helen Weinberg.
Ray was a proud graduate of Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove Pennsylvania where he played on both the Football and Baseball teams. A longtime resident of Hanover, Ray was an active, longtime member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Hanover, having served as the church treasurer for 26 years. Ray worked in the Information Technology industry as a Project Manager for Electronic Data Systems for over 20 years. Following his time at Electronic Data Systems Ray finished up his career working at Voya Financial Services. Ray was an avid fan of all the Boston Sports teams and was a New England Patriots season ticket holder for over 40 years. Most of all, Ray loved his family. His greatest joy came from time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Interment of Ray's ashes will be held privately at the Hanover Center Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date, at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 77 Rockland Street, Route 139 in Hanover.
