

Richard Paul Sullivan, 75, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026. He was born on December 5, 1950, in Boston to Paul Sullivan and Mireille (Riffaud). Richard was raised in West Roxbury and carried a deep pride for his family, community, and city throughout his life.
Richard proudly served four years in the United States Coast Guard before continuing his education and earning a master’s degree in criminal justice from Northeastern University. He dedicated 30 years of service to the Boston Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant. Throughout his career, he was respected for his leadership, commitment to public service, and dedication to protecting the people of Boston. Above all else, Richard was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Sullivan (Tully); his children, Matthew Sullivan and Caroline Sullivan; and his brothers, Gerard Sullivan, Mark Sullivan, and Brian Sullivan.
Visitation will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, Route 53, Hanover, on Tuesday, May 26th from 12-2PM with a funeral home service starting at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
