
Robert E. Flynn Sr., 71, of Rockland died Saturday, September 29, 2001 in the Colony House Nursing Home in Abington due to Complications of Heart Failure. Mr. Flynn was born in Rockland on June 8, 1930, the son on the late William J. and Helen A. KilgrewFlynn. A lifelong resident of Rockland , he was a 1948 graduated of Rockland High School. Mr. Flynn worked for Avon Sole Co. for 22 years and later worked 25 years as the Head Custodian at the Hingham District Court. He retired last year. Mr. Flynn was an elected member of the Board of Assessors in Rockland and held his position since 1985. He was a member of the Rockland Democratic Town Committee. He was an avid gardener and a coin collector. He was a great conversationalist with a great sense of humor and he loved to dance. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Evelyn E. Tierney Flynn. 2 sons, Robert E. Flynn Jr. and Kevin P. Flynn both of Rockland, 3 brothers, Atty. Joseph Flynn of Norwell, John J. Flynn of Rockland and Atty. William J. Flynn Jr. of Sandwich, also survived by 5 grandchildren. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 9 Am in Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland. Internment in Holy Family Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 41-45 East Water Street in Rockland on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Building fund at Holy Family Church.
