Robert M. Mahoney

Robert M. Mahoney, 80 of Rockland passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015. Son of the late William and Virginia (Mason) Mahoney, he was born in Rockland on January 3, 1935. He was raised and educated in Rockland and later served in the Army. Robert had been employed as a sheet rocker and had worked as a grounds keeper at Holy Family Cemetery for 5 years. He had been a member of the American Legion in Hanover and the Rockland Eagles for 30 years. Robert was the brother of Virginia "Ginny" Costa of Plymouth and the late James Mahoney, Christine Samarelli and Marjorie Cowing. He was the brother in law of William Cowing of Pembroke, nephew of Charles Mason of Rockland, cousin of Lorraine Dunn and her husband Stephen of Plymouth and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St in ROCKLAND on Wednesday from 3-6 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, 403 Union St in Rockland. Burial at a later date in Hanover Center Cemetery.
