Robert M. Mahoney Sr.

Robert M. Mahoney Sr., 81, of Yarmouthport died Monday, October 1, 2001 in the Mayflower Place Nursing Center in Yarmouth. The son of the late John J. and Mary M. Hogan Mahoney, he was born in Boston on August 9, 1920. He was raised and educated in Dorchester and lived in Braintree until moving to Yarmouthport in 1984. Mr. Mahoney worked as a District Manager for NET & T in Boston until his retirement in 1984. He served in the Navy during WWII and Korea. Mr. Mahoney was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He is survived by his wife, Ethel W. McCarthy Mahoney, 2 sons, Robert M. Mahoney Jr. of Truro and Richard K. Mahoney Sr. of Braintree, a daughter, Janet M. Rossi of Pembroke, a brother Paul F. Mahoney of Plymouth and 2 grandchildren, Andrea K. Rossi Burrill of Pembroke and Richard k. Mahoney Jr. of Braintree. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 9:00 AM in St. Thecla's Church, 145 Washington Street, Rte 53 in North Pembroke. Internment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home 551 Washington Street, Rte 53 Hanover on Wednesday 4-8 PM.
