
Mr. Robert W. Nihill, 90, of Rockland died Friday, June 25, 2004 at the Southwood Nursing Home in Norwell. The son of the late Walter R. and Mabel J. Doucette Nihill, he was born in the Neponsett section of Boston on March 11, 1914. He was raised and educated and was a lifelong resident of Rockland. Until his retirement, Mr. Nihill was employed as a Machinist at the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy. He was a Member of the Fore River Shipyard Oldtimers Club. He enjoyed Traveling, Gardening and his Family. He is survived by his Wife of 62 years, Helen C. Pike Nihill, 3 Sons, David R. Nihill of Needham, Alan J. Nihill of Pembroke and Robert J. Nihill of Rockland, 3 Daughters, Nancy R. Munson of South Dartmouth, Elaine M. Howard of Rochester and Deborah J. Baumgarten of Bridgewater, 3 Sisters, Doris Tessicini of Stoughton, Edith MacLeod of Hanson and Phyllis Neagle of Virginia Beach VA, 9 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. He was the Brother of the late Arthur Nihill, the late Leo Nihill and the late William Nihill. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at 9 AM in Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street in Rockland. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rockland. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home 41-45 East Water Street in ROCKLAND on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Society, 403 Union Street, Rockland MA 02370.
