Robert Shannon

Robert Shannon, 65 of Pembroke and formerly of Weymouth and Hyde Park, passed away on March 23, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 7, 1948 in Boston, he was the son of the late Victor A. and Mary R. (Starrs) Shannon. He was employed as an Epidemiologist for the health care industry. Robert enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, and was an avid Patriots Fan. He also proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Most of all, Robert loved spending time with his family and friends. Robert was the beloved husband of Susan L. (Radnor) Shannon. Devoted father of Kenneth J. Shannon and his wife Sarah of Cohasset and Ross R. Shannon and his fiancé Gabriella Oliveira of Pembroke. Dear brother of Victor and his wife Ann of Rockland, Alfred and his wife Earlene of Sharon, and Kevin and his wife Lorraine of Weymouth. Cherished grandfather of John and Michael. Robert also leaves many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, HANOVER, on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Funeral service will be celebrated at St. Stephen's Parish, 16 Highland Ave, Cohasset, on Friday at 11 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Robert Shannon Memorial Fund to benefit the VA Boston Healthcare System c/o Citizens Bank.
