It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ryan. He was a cherished son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Vernon and Louise (LuAnn) Pennington of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and his sister, Kelly and Shawn Carroll of Hanover, Massachusetts.
Ryan was a devoted uncle to Mary and Meadow Carroll; the memories they made will be treasured forever.
Ryan was preceded in death by his niece, Madison Ellis Carroll; his grandparents, Robert and Ann Wilson, and Chuck and Shirley Pennington; his Aunt Terry; his Uncles Robert, Daryl, and JR; and many loved cousins.
Ryan was greeted by Mesa and Buddy, and leaves behind his loving dog, Neely.
In Ryan’s teen years, he was diagnosed with a heart condition that would change his life. As a patient at Boston’s Children’s Hospital, Ryan received the best care in the world, and we extend our sincere thank you to the entire staff—especially his doctor, Dr. Alexander. Without his expertise, Ryan’s life would have been much shorter.
Throughout Ryan’s twenties, he struggled to find his place, but because of the strong foundation of love built by his parents, he was able to find peace and joy in everyday life. Ryan loved sports and loved to talk to those he ran into about "that game last night." As a child, he found community in hockey and enjoyed watching Hanover High Hockey, as well as being a devoted Boston Bruins fan, always proudly representing his favorite player, #77 Ray Bourque. Growing up in Hanover, Ryan formed many meaningful friendships that he treasured. Ryan loved to golf, and fish. His love for fishing brought many happy memories, and we will hold on to that joy and carry it forward as we celebrate the life Ryan lived.
We invite family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by Ryan to join us in honoring and celebrating a wonderful life.Services will be held on Saturday, July 25th at the Sullivan Funeral Home, located at 551 Washington St., Hanover, MA 02339. A visitation period will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a memorial service beginning promptly at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, Ryan will be laid to rest at Hanover Center Cemetery, 41 Main St., Hanover, MA.
