Shawn Gokey

It is with great sadness that the family of Shawn Gokey, announce his passing on Friday February 12th 2021, at home with his loving family by his side. Shawn was the loving husband of Kristen (Lingley) Gokey, together they shared 34 years of happiness. Loving father of Shane Gokey and his fiancé Anna Haskins, and his beloved German Shepherd, Jade who was always by his side. A devoted son-in-law to Mary Jo Lingley and the late John B. Lingley. He was the brother of David Gokey and Colleen Harding (Russell) of Hull and Kevin Gokey of NC. He is also survived by many devoted nieces and nephews. Brother-in-law of Melissa Lunetta (Paul) of Maine. He was the son of the late Shirley Gokey, brother of the late Cheryl Driscoll and Brian Gokey.

Shawn was born and raised in Hull where he attended Hull Schools. He had a successful 29 year career on the Town of Hanover’s Highway Department and spent the last 16 years as the Highway Foreman. He was also a former Call Firefighter and a proud member of the Phoenix Lodge, A.F. & A.M. in Hanover.

An avid beach goer, Shawn enjoyed spending his time at any and all beaches, lounging in the sun, doing word searches and boogie boarding. He spent his summers with his family boating, kayaking and jet skiing in Bridgton, ME. His greatest joy was being at home spending time with his loving family.

Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 in Hanover on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. The service and burial will be private.
