Suzanne Newman

Suzanne Newman, aged 51, passed away peacefully on June 6th after a nine month long battle with stage four colon cancer. Suzanne is survived by her beloved husband and companion of 24 years Matthew (56) along with her son Matthew A. (20) and daughter Abigail (16). 

Suzanne was born on November 25th,1970 in Cambridge, MA. She spent half her life early living in South Boston and the other half growing up in North Quincy. She graduated from North Quincy High School as part of the class of ‘89. 

Suzanne moved to Pembroke with her husband in 2004 and raised her two children Matthew and Abigail there. She worked all throughout Boston making her way up to be at high end law firms as a paralegal. She was always a city girl at heart but settled for the quiet of the suburbs to raise her family. 

Suzanne carried herself every day with a smile and spirit that would brighten up the lives of anyone around her. She famously said that she liked to bring life to the party, not be the life of the party. She loved to decorate, in fact she always said she wanted to be a decorator. She would decorate her house every year for Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and many more holidays. She made her home one of a kind just like herself and that is what made her great. She never cared what others thought of her, she only cared about what made her happy which in turn made everyone else around her happy too. She never wanted to be like everyone else, she wanted to be unique and she was. She was one of a kind. 

Suzanne devoted her whole life to making sure her children Matthew and Abigail lived a good life. She always put her children first before herself and she went to the ends of the earth digging everywhere to get whatever it was her children needed. She gave the seeds of life to her children and let them grow. Suzanne will be missed by all who encountered her along the journey of her life. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at St.Thecla’s Church, 145 Washington St, Route 53, Pembroke, MA on Wednesday June 15th at 10am. Burial will follow soon after at Pembroke Center Cemetery.
