Born on September 22, 1940, in Boston, Tom was the undeniable rock of his family—a natural leader whose calm demeanor made him the very first person anyone called whenever they needed help or advice.
For 36 years, Tom proudly served in the Quincy Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant Detective. He deeply loved his career, and when asked why, his answer was simple: "I love helping people." He is best remembered on the force for his integrity and his dedicated work in civil rights during his era of policing, leaving behind a legacy of fairness, justice, and community trust.
At home, Tom’s greatest pride was the beautiful life he built with his beloved wife, Jeanne, with whom he shared 60 wonderful years of marriage rooted in deep devotion. He was a patient, supportive father, and a fiercely proud grandfather. While he stood as a pillar of strength, he also brought endless joy to his family with a witty sense of humor that his grandchildren will forever cherish.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (Fiore) Casey; his daughter Jeannine Hatch and her husband John of Lakeville; his son Thomas Casey of Kingston; and his daughter Cristina Evans and her husband Brian of Pembroke. He was the adored grandfather of seven grandchildren: Christian (Abby), Sean (Grace), Caroline (and her fiancé Lindo), Julia, Camryn, Brendan, and Lucas; and the proud great-grandfather of Charlotte and Hudson.
After retiring, Tom and Jeanne traded New England winters for the warmth of Naples, Florida, where they spent 25 beautiful years. Ever the leader, Tom actively served on the condominium boards of both his Florida and Kingston communities. He loved golfing, walking on the beach, and the Florida sunshine, but his absolute favorite times were when his children and grandchildren visited. He took immense joy in playing tour guide, sharing all his favorite local spots and activities with the people he loved most.
Tom will be remembered as a man of strong integrity, a loyal friend, and the steady anchor of his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the warmth, laughter, and wisdom he gave so freely will continue to comfort everyone who knew him.
May he rest in peace.
