Thomas Glover

Thomas Rudel Glover, 78, of Hanover, MA passed away on August 2nd, 2026. He is survived by his children including Lindsay of Pittsburgh, PA and her partner Jon Crespi, Joey of Dorchester, Tommy of North Palm Beach, FL and his wife Vicky and 2 granddaughters, Gemma and Ava, Pete Cosmos of Providence, RI, and Phil Cosmos of South Boston. He is also survived by his former wife Susan Glover of Dorchester, his sister in law Donna Ridolfi of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Swampscott, his cousin Lydia Pontius of Playa del Carmen, Mexico and friends who he considered family for decades. He also leaves behind his feline housemate, Mookie Glover, and is predeceased by his beloved yellow lab, Buster Glover and a multitude of other pets he cared for his whole life. In his words, he had more cats than God.

Born in Camp LeJeune, NC to the late Millie (Linton) Glover and William Glover, he grew up in Brookline, MA and he remained close to his stepfather, the late Harvey Clauson of Falmouth. A graduate of Brookline High, he studied at UMass Amherst and Bridgewater State and earned his JD from the New England School of Law. He practiced criminal law as the proprietor of the Law Offices of Thomas Glover for decades with offices in Cambridge, Hingham, and Hanover, and served many years as a Public Defender for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts until his retirement.

To those close to him, Tom will forever be remembered for his wit, his dry sense of humor, entertaining personality, sentimentality, a wicked green thumb, his love for animals, all things Boston sports, antiques, cooking, southern food, and his strong opinions on everything from politics to Verizon. True to his chosen profession, he enjoyed a good argument. He was a skilled photographer, movie buff, and jazz and rock fan. He attended Woodstock in 1969 and spoke of it often.
