Victor D. Newman, 87 of Kingston formerly of Weymouth and Corbin KY died Friday, September 21, 2012 at Wingate at Silver Lake in Kingston. The son of the late Herbert and Edith Storm Newman he was born in Irvine KY on November 16, 1924. Victor proudly served in the Navy during WWII and was later employed in Data Processing at Electro Switch in Weymouth. He was a member of the Braintree DAV and was an avid sports fan. Husband of the late Angela M. Sacco Newman, he is survived by 2 children, David Newman and his wife Barbara of Kingston and Barbara Murphy and her husband Matthew of Hanson, he was the brother of Violet Meadors and Marcie Douglas both of Dayton OH and Velma White of Corbin KY. Also survived by 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Funeral Service in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., at the corner of Rte 14 & 58 in HANSON on Tuesday at 12:30 PM. Interment with military honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours omitted.
