I am so sorry to hear of Billy’s passing. I have fond memories of riding with Billy, B-B-Bob, Neil and the gang back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. I remember the blue Sportster he rode, and the trike Billy and his dad built. To Tommy and the rest of his family I share your sadness.

To the Gammon Family - We offer our deepest condolences on the loss of a great man. Billy was Mr. Rockland, Sr. He knew where to get a car fixed, who to call for electrical work and knew the town bylaws better than the people who wrote them. Walking around without a jacket, even in winter, always a smile on his face. It was our privilege to be neighbors for 16 years. He was so kind to us and my children. He will be deeply missed. 

Bill, you were the perfect example of how every godfather should be. Growing up, you were my number 1 favorite person.. without a question. 
You always made me feel so special, no matter what was going on in either of our lives, you would ALWAYS hand deliver my card to me on my actual birthday. I can still picture you pulling in my parent’s driveway in Plymouth on your blue Harley, just to give me a card. Even when I grew up - coming home from the rush of the every day mom life to find a card stuffed in my door.. Always made me stop and realize how lucky I was to have someone so special in my life. It always amazed me that he never forgot. 
I remember all the cookouts, camping, bringing my favorite bag of chips when you’d come visit, the Yosemite Sam on your motorcycle and all the motorcycle rides with you and Dad growing up. When I had my girls, you treated them just as special as you've treated me all these years. Hugs to your family and grandkids, you were always talking about them. Rest in Peace, Bill. I miss you so much already. 🤍🪽

Bill was such a nice guy. I met Bill 20 years ago at McKinley Daycare years ago. He was always such a nice nice man. He was always one you could count on. He will truly be missed.

I am so sorry, to hear that Billy passed away.  I only have wonderful memories with him.  We had a few cook-outs together, and he was always, very kind to my 2 children, Cheyanne & Hunter.  May all the memories, help heal the hearts of all.

To the Gammon Family 

On behalf of the Rockland H.S Athletic Department. We are sorry to hear of the passing of Billy.  I just spoke with him last Thursday at the Volleyball game.  He was always at the games at the Stadium, Gym or Fields, supporting the Rockland Athletes. Maybe Billy Rest in Peace. We are sorry for your families loss. 

My prayers go out to family. He will be missed. Many great memories of riding motorcycles together, and just sitting around talking. Very long time friend who always sent a Christmas card. RIP Billy

I worked with Billy as a summer custodian when I was in college. He and I spent many hours together as we methodically repainted the interior of the now demolished Memorial Park School.  Despite the gallons and gallons of Peach Parfait (a color we both hated) paint we had to apply, we had a lot of laughs.  He was a scary looking guy, but he was kind, and the years always dropped away whenever we would run across each other in late years.  I’m very glad I got to know him, and he will be missed.

I'm sorry for your loss. He was a great man. He loved my boys Dylan Jr. and Mason. He was very kind to me. He will greatly missed. Even though I didn't know him that long I will miss him. I'm greatful that I got to know him.

Our deepest condolences to the Gammon family. Bill you will be missed immensely. We could not have asked for a better neighbor for our five years on Franklin Ave. You gave our children memories that will never be forgotten. Until we meet again.

I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Gammon’s passing.  I just spoke with him at the convenience store three weeks ago and after our chat,  He said Cheryl, call me Billy and I said I have been calling you Mr. Gammon’s since I was a kid.  (He laughed and said, you’re not a kid anymore, but your Dad raised you right).  We were both laughing as I walked away.   He was one of my favorite townies. 

May your memories bring you comfort in the days ahead. 

We lived on Franklin Ave for the last five years. Bill was a very special person to our family and especially to our kids. We are so sad to hear of his passing but grateful for all of the fond memories we have with him. I hope he knew just how much me meant to us all. Rest easy my sweet friend! 

Bill, I don’t know where to begin. You have been my guardian angel since I moved to this street. I will forever treasure the time I had with you. I have never known a more selfless and caring person as you. I keep expecting to see you come walking across the street, or to hear you call for Flex or Henry. Thank you for being my best friend this past year. Thank you for everything you have done for me. I hope you knew how much you meant to Flex and me. I promise to mow my lawn before it gets too long and to get rid of those paint cans in my basement.
