

Mr. William Charles Gilmore Sr, 86, of Pembroke died Saturday, September 10, 2005 in his home after a long illness. The son of the late Charles and Beatrice Breault Gilmore, he was born in Boston on December 1, 1918. He was raised and educated in Roxbury and was a graduate of Boston Technical High School Mr. Gilmore served 5 years in the army during WWII and was the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon. He retired from the Boston Fire Department in 1986 with rank of Lieutenant, having been assigned to Engine #17. He was a member of the Firefighters Union. He is survived by his wife, Matilda lovine Gilmore, 1 son, Dr. William Charles Gilmore Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Peabody, 1 daughter, Karen Ann Hill and her husband, Frederick of Pembroke, 1 sister, Ethel Williams of Kingston and 3 grandchildren, Ryan P. Hill, Lauren Elizabeth Hill and Erin Tara Gilmore. He was the brother of the late Joseph Gilmore. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 15, 2005 at 11 AM in St. Thecla Church, 145 Washington Street, Rte 53 in North Pembroke. Interment will be in Pembroke Center Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington Street, Rte 53 in HANOVER on Wednesday from 4-8 PM.
