Bill was born on September 4, 1946, in Quincy, Massachusetts. He grew up in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School in 1964. After attending Boston University for two years, he answered the call to serve his country and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1966.
Bill was immensely proud of his service as a Marine. During his military career, he served with the Marine Corps Honor Guard in Washington, D.C., and completed active duty service in Okinawa, Japan. The values of honor, dedication, and patriotism that he embraced during his years in the Marines remained with him throughout his life.
Following his military service, Bill and his beloved wife, Laraine H. Malley (Dahlroos), settled on the South Shore, where they built a loving home and raised their family. Married for 59 years, Bill and Laraine shared a lifetime of devotion, partnership, and cherished memories together.
Bill enjoyed a successful career in banking, serving for many years as a bank executive with Rockland Trust Company. He later worked as a Financial Consultant until his retirement. While he took great pride in his professional accomplishments, his greatest joy was always his family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Laraine; his three children, Kristina, Christopher, and Jennifer; and his eight beloved grandchildren: Christian, Axel, Juli, Katie, Brianna, Wil, Bella, and JJ. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Colleen Malley.
In retirement, Bill devoted himself to spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness. He and Laraine made their home in Rockland for the past 25 years, where Bill found contentment in the simple pleasures of family life, travel, and birdwatching.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Tina Bain and the Kind-Hearted Caregivers for the compassionate and loving care they provided, allowing Bill to remain at home surrounded by his family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veterans' Services, 242 Union Street, Rockland, MA 02370.
