William J. Waters

William J. Waters, 85 of Pembroke, formerly of Hingham and Somerville died on Thursday December 8th, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Husband of the late Clare (MacDougall) Waters. Son of John T. and Eleanor G. (Robbins) Waters, Brother of the Late Jacqueline Haywood and her husband Walter and Brother of Robert Waters and his wife Helen. Father of, William J. Waters and his wife Cathy, Susan Holt and her husband Stephen, Paul Waters, Thomas Waters and his wife Sandy, Mariette LaGreca and her husband Sonny, Clare Freeman, and James Waters and his wife Mary. Grandfather of 15, Freddy, Brittany, Billy, Michael, Max, Stephen, Sean, Scott, Katie, Michael, Cheri, Mary, Sara, Angel and Brandon. Great Grandfather of 6, Christopher, Kelsey, Delaney, David, Daniel, and Abigail. He is survived by many wonderful and loving nieces and nephews.

Bill was an avid sports enthusiast. Playing Baseball was his favorite passion, and had made it to be a player for the Boston Braves (Red Soxs) AAA ball team prior to being drafted into the U.S. Army. After his military service Bill was a Life Insurance Salesman for 32 years, most of them with Prudential Life Insurance, and in his retirement years kept busy doing driveway estimates for T & K Sealcoating of Whitman. He was graduate of Bentley Accounting College, and a 35 year sober friend of Bill W.

Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St, Rte 53 in Hanover on Tuesday from 4-7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM at St. Thecla Church, 145 Washington St, Rte 139 in Pembroke. Burial with Military Honors on THURSDAY at 1 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Donations can be made to the Soldiers Home 91 Crest Ave, Chelsea, MA 02150
