Alan Dennis Wiggin

Born on August 13, 1947, to Barbara L. (Schaltenbrand) Wiggin and Thomas F. Wiggin Jr., Alan grew up in Wollaston (Quincy), Massachusetts, alongside his brother, Brian Wiggin. From an early age, he displayed the easygoing nature, quick wit, and gift for conversation that would become his hallmark.

Some of Alan's happiest memories were made during summers spent with family and friends in Dennis Port, Massachusetts, and at Silver Lake in Harrisville, New Hampshire. These cherished traditions became lifelong passions and later provided treasured experiences for his children, grandchildren, friends, and extended family. Alan found joy in life's simple pleasures, good company, and the places he loved most.

He attended Quincy College before answering the call to serve his country during the Vietnam War. Alan proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 to 1971 as an aircraft maintenance specialist. Stationed at Bien Hoa Air Base, he helped keep the renowned AC-47 “Spooky” gunships flying. His military service reflected the loyalty, commitment, and strength of character he carried throughout his life.

In 2025, Alan attended a Spooky reunion in Dayton, Ohio—an experience that had long been on his bucket list. The trip was more than a reunion; it marked the completion of an important journey, giving him the opportunity to reconnect with fellow veterans, honor his service, and find peace with a chapter of his life that had shaped him profoundly.

In 1986, Alan and two colleagues established Fastener Components, Inc., where he worked until his retirement, reflecting his entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, and commitment to others.

Above all, Alan was a devoted family man. He shared nearly 56 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Beverly. Married on January 15, 1971, they built a beautiful life together and raised their family in Pembroke, Massachusetts, creating a home where everyone was welcome.

To know Alan was to know a gifted storyteller. He was the person you hoped would sit beside you at a bar, on a plane, or at any gathering. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, and before long, a stranger became a friend. His warmth, humor, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

For many who knew him, Alan was more than a friend—he was a father figure, mentor, and trusted confidant. Whether you needed a listening ear, a funny story, or a guiding word, he was always there. He turned countless friendships into lifelong family bonds, and his passing leaves a father-sized void in many hearts.

Alan's favorite place in the world was the porch overlooking Silver Lake. Like his father, Tom, he loved sitting there and watching a good thunderstorm roll across the water. Surrounded by family, friends, sunsets, and laughter, Alan was in his element. With close friends, he formed the Silver Lake Official Blender Society (S.L.O.B.S.), a tradition rooted in friendship, inclusion, and good times that continues to create lasting memories.

Alan is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Maier Wiggin; his son, Jason Wiggin, and daughter-in-law, Danielle Wiggin, of Maynard, Massachusetts; his daughter, Lisa Wiggin, of Pembroke, Massachusetts; his brother, Brian Wiggin, of Medway, Massachusetts; and his cherished grandchildren, Kayla Billings, Emily Billings, Mykenzi Billings, and Ty Montanaro.

A life well lived, a friend to many, and a stranger to none—forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
