Born in Wales, United Kingdom, on July 22, 1955, Amanda lived a life defined by love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the beloved wife of Stephen "Mikky" Mikkola, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and countless treasured memories.
Amanda worked at Rockland Trust, where she was known for her dedication and warm spirit. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with the people she loved most. She also adored her faithful dog, Abby, whose companionship brought her comfort, happiness, and unconditional love.
Family was the center of Amanda's world. She was the loving mother of David Bowles and his wife, Rachael, of East Bridgewater; Caroline Bowles of East Bridgewater; Dennis Mikkola and his wife, Andrea, of Pembroke; Jason Mikkola and his wife, Laurie, of Fryeburg, Maine; and Adam Mikkola and his wife, Alicia, of East Bridgewater.
Amanda was the proud and devoted Nanny to her 15 cherished grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. To so many, she was simply "Nanny"—a woman whose home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, cared for, and valued. Her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and steadfast devotion to her family touched countless lives and created memories that will be treasured forever.
She is survived by her brothers, Martyn Marston and his wife, Jackie, of New Milton, England, and Keith Marston of Scotland. She was predeceased by her brother, Malcolm Marston of Wales, and her infant son, Gordon.
Amanda's sudden passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories she created, the family traditions she lovingly passed down, and the unconditional love she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, and in the love that continues to bind her family together. We take comfort in believing that she will continue to watch over those she loved most—especially her beloved Mikky—with the same care, guidance, and devotion that defined her life.
Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Amanda's life on Friday, July 10, 2026, beginning at 4:00 p.m., at 15 Captain Torrey Lane, Pembroke.
Though she is no longer by our side, Amanda's love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
