David Gilmore Mooney

Dave was the beloved husband of Linda (Barsamian) Mooney, the love of his life and devoted partner through many wonderful years together. Together they built a life centered around family, laughter, travel, and treasured memories.

He was the loving father of David Mooney and his wife Lisa of Attleboro, Christopher Mooney and his wife Brandi, Ashley Mooney of North Attleboro, Katylee Micciche and her husband David of South Carolina, and Mathew Mullen and his wife Katie of Abington, and loving uncle of Frederick Barsamian of Quincy. Dave was a proud and devoted “Papa” to Christopher, Jack, Benjamin, and Harrison Mooney; Jaymes Mooney and Olyvia Foti; and Kay, JP, and Libby Mullen. Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren and watching his family grow. Dave is survived by his sister Audrey (Danny) O'Connor and brothers, Dickie (Kim), Rob (Linda), and Paul (Diane) Mooney.

Dave worked for many years with the MBTA, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of all who knew him through his hard work and dedication. Outside of work, Dave truly enjoyed life. He loved traveling, especially family trips to Aruba with Linda and those he loved most. He found peace and happiness living by the lake, where many of his favorite days were spent relaxing on his pontoon boat surrounded by family and friends.

Dave is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Dave will be remembered for his love of family, his loyalty, his sense of humor, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, May 31 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Sullivan Funeral Home in 814 Indian Head St, Hanson 02341. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 1 at 11 a.m. in Holy Apostles Church (Formerly Our Lady of the Lake Church), 575 Monponsett Street, Halifax 02338. Burial to follow at Central Cemetery, 20 Hemlock Street, Halifax.
