Robert Whalen, 87 years old, left this world peacefully on May 28, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at the Dr. Ruth McLain Hospice Home. Bob was born on March 26, 1939 in Cambridge, MA, the son of Francis Whalen and Lillian (Ferdinand) Whalen.
Bob spent his early years in Cambridge and then went on to pursue a career in the Canteen industry. He owned his own Canteen business for many years before retiring in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sheila (Foley). Bob and Sheila spent many happy years traveling, enjoying time at the beach and spending time with family. Bob was a family man who left behind many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved very much and they loved in return.
Preceding him in death was his first wife Theresa Whalen and his long time friend Mary Callahan of Rockland, MA.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Bob's memory.
