Marian H. Roemke, 86, of Harlan, died on Thursday April 24, 2014, the 60th anniversary of her marriage to her husband Alfred, at The Cedars, Leo. Born in Fort Wayne on December 18, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Earl Closson and Hildred (Irving) Borders, and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Woodburn.
She is survived by her sons, Mark (Carol) Roemke, Brian (Teresa) Roemke and Randy Roemke; sister-in-law, Frieda Hieber; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred W. Roemke; and brother, Kenneth Closson.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am Tuesday April 29, at Zion Lutheran Church, 7617 Bull Rapids Road, Woodburn, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be held from 5 to 8 pm Sunday April 27 and 2 to 8 pm Monday April 28, at Hockemeyer Funeral Home, 17629 State Road 37, Harlan. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Zion Lutheran Church, Woodburn.
