MARY CATHERINE KLOPFENSTEIN, 92, of Harlan, died on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born June 28, 1920, in Allen County, she was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and Quilting Circle for Overseas Missions. Surviving are her daughters, Brenda Kurtz and Janell (Al) Hoeppner, both of Fort Wayne; sons, Gregory (Farren) Klopfenstein of Woodburn, Todd (Christine) Klopfenstein of Fort Wayne and Tim (Kimberly) Klopfenstein of Woodburn; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris DeLong and Helen Lantz; and brothers, John (Mary Lou) Kurtz, Tom (Dorothy) Kurtz and George Kurtz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gladwyn, in 2002; daughter, Linda Klopfenstein; son, Vincent Klopfenstein; brother, Robert Kurtz; and sister, Marjorie Klopfenstein. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Harlan, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Amy Beitelschees-Albers officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Hockemeyer Funeral Home, Harlan. Burial in Harlan Memorial Cemetery, Harlan. Preferred memorials to Harlan Lions Club or the church.
