

Pauline Mae (Thompson) Nusbaum, 89, of Woodburn, passed away on Monday, January 9. Pauline was born on February 5, 1933 to the late Walter and Florence (Gustin) Thompson. Pauline graduated from Harlan High School in 1951 and was joined in marriage to Max Nusbaum on June 27, 1953. The couple moved to Fort Knox, Kentucky while Max served in the Army during the Korean War. After returning home, the couple owned and operated Hoosier Truck Equipment for many years until they retired in 1998. Pauline enjoyed flower gardening, baking, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Woodburn Missionary Church.
Pauline is survived by her children: Debbie (Jerry) Lange, Susan (Chris) Hissong, and Joni (Calvin) Hissong, grandchildren: Jennifer (Nick) Lengacher, Courtney (Ryan) Riecken, Jessica (Nate) Wright, Kyle (Jessica) Hissong, Amy (Justin) Silvers, Colton (Haley) Hissong and great-grandchildren: Christian, Caleb, Brody, Sawyer, Graycin, Grey, Jillian, Maura, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Elisa, Ella, Carson, and Cohen. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Max Nusbaum, of 66 years in 2019, brothers: Charles, Robert, Max, Russell, and Jim Thompson and sisters Betty Richmond and Bonita Stopher. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, at Woodburn Missionary Church, 5108 Bull Rapids Road, Woodburn (IN 46797), with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Scipio Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodburn Missionary Church.
