

Born in Mercedes, Texas, on September 12, 1926, he attended Mercedes High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea. He returned to Mercedes and coordinated transportation for farm hands in the Midwest.
He settled in Indiana and was in management for Western Electric in Indianapolis and
then Shreveport, LA. He was a proud member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Upon his retirement he returned to the RGV and settled in Harlingen and worked for H & H Golf Carts.
He was a member of the Pan American Golf Association, the VFW and enjoyed fishing, golfing and the Dallas Cowboys.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Isaura Garcia Bowman; his parents, Sylvestra Del Toro and Fred A. Bowman of Mercedes; and his brother, Oscar Bowman. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Rosa de Lima Bowman Teran Bingley; his children, Betty Willard and Fred Bowman, Jr. both of Harlingen; grandchildren, Amy Eason, Ariel Schuetz, Rachel Bowman, Annice Willard Duggar, Alison Willard Aspland, and Will Willard; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 4, 2016, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 6 p.m., in the chapel at Funeraria del Angel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 5, at Funeraria del Angel with committal service following at Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The Bowman and Willard family would like to thank our beloved father’s caregivers, Anna Vento, Aida Vento, Nora Davila, Lupita Munoz , and Rosa Lui. As well as to the always smiling family doctor, Dr. Luis Gonzalez and all the care professionals at Valley Baptist Medical Center, who so lovingly cared for our dad.
