Weslaco/Tyler, TX – Hugo Chavez, 61, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 in Tyler, TX. He was born July 8, 1953 in San Vicente, Michoacan, raised in Weslaco, TX, and most recently lived in Tyler, TX.

Hugo is survived by his grandmother, Angela Martinez; mother, Maria Pedraza; his former wife, Guadalupe Chavez; his children, Hugo Chavez, Jr, Iran Chavez, Hector Chavez, Johanna Chavez, and Patricia Chavez, and his grandchildren; Angelina Chavez, Hugo Chavez, III, Alicia Chavez, Jorge Sandoval, Jr, Jazmine Chavez, Natalie Chavez, Pedro Ramirez, Jacob Bautista, AnaLisa Chavez, Jocelyn Valdovinos, Aniyah Gutierrez, Hector Chavez, Jaylnn Chavez, and Eli Gutierrez.

Visitation will be, today, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 beginning at 2pm and will continue until 9pm, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7pm. Mass service will be at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 109 S. Illinois Ave Weslaco, TX at 10am on Thursday, October 2, 2014, with interment to follow at Highland Memorial Park of Weslaco.
