Jesus J. Cardenas

Harlingen- Jesus J. Cardenas , 95 of Harlingen, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, October 9, 2017. Jesus who many knew as “Jasso” was born in Mexico. He was born one of ten children to Criselio Cardenas and Vita Cardenas. Mr. Cardenas married his first wife Maria Simona in 1948. She preceded him in death in 1995. Jesus later married Maria L. Cardenas.

Mr. Cardenas was a most generous man, always extending help to numerous people throughout the years.

Mr. Cardenas is survived by his wife, Maria L. Cardenas; his children; Jesus (Linda) Cardenas Jr., Francisco (Rosa) Cardenas, Jose (Antonia) Cardenas, Criselio Cardenas, Gustavo (Georgia) Cardenas, Raul Cardenas, Antonio Cardenas, Maria Alisia Cardenas, 21 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Visitation will be held today, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 beginning at 1 p.m. and will continue until 9 p.m., with recitation of the holy rosary to begin at 7 p.m., at Funeraria Del Angel. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 12, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Harlingen with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas.
