Judy was born in Dublin Texas on March 19, 1925 to Calvin and Maggie McCarty. She eventually moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where she met Harry Oakey and they were married on September 12, 1947. They lived in Wichita Falls until moving to Harlingen in 1978.
Judy worked as an air traffic controller during World War II. She owned a plane, gave weather reports for pilots and even gave flying lessons. When they moved to Harlingen, Judy managed apartments and taught an apartment management course.
Judy was a Doe in the Elks lodge and a faithful member at First Christian Church, involved in the CWF and many other activities.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Harry.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynde Green and husband Mickey, Clarissa Oakey Roewe and husband Terry, Claudia Humphries and husband Joel, Connie Johnson and husband Joe. Several Grandsons and Granddaughters, Scot Green and wife Lisa, Shawn Green, Amy Gilpin, Joe Johnson and wife Megan, Jeremiah Johnson, Joshua Humphries and Samantha Humphries. Great-grandsons Gage Green, Zachary Gilpin and Joe Johnson, and great-granddaughter Jordan Green.

Viewing is at Del Angel Funeral Home on Thursday, January 9 from 3-8 pm located at 2906 S Expressway 77 and 83, Harlingen.
The Memorial Service is at First Christian Church on Friday, January 10 at 10:00 AM, located at 421 South 13th Street, Harlingen.
Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls, Tx at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13. The family will be at 4906 Del Rio Trail in Wichita Falls following the graveside services.
