Juanita Cavazos

Heaven opened its gate to receive a new angel on August 19th at the age of 63. Juanita Cavazos, “Mom,” lost her battle to cancer. Daughter of the late Celedonio and Maria E. Salazar, she is the eldest of four children. Her siblings are Blanca, Roy, and Judy. Juanita worked for Rio Hondo I.S.D. for 8 years and at Resaca Elementary for 30 more years until her retirement. Left to cheer on life are Juan M. Cavazos, her children: Laura, Johnny, Monica, and Eva along with her husband Mando with their children: Phylicia, Darian, and Alina. Precious to her are her nieces and nephews and the newest addition to the family, Alejandra Valdez. Many thanks to the Thursday Ladies dinner group, numerous cousins, aunts, and prayer warriors of faith that kept her fighting and her morale up until the end. A big thank you to the many friends, nurses, doctors and care givers who helped her through her fight - especially her mom - until the very end. A vivir tu vida! “Ya vivimos, ya amamos, y ya nos vamos!” Visitation will begin at 6:00 at Del Angel Funeral home.
