She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Lawrence, her eldest son, John, and her brother
Eddie Joe Kuhn. Mary Barbara is survived by her four sons, Thomas Edward Wiesman, William Lawrence
(Bonnie) Wiesman, Charles James (Karen) Wiesman, and Richard Paul (Sherry) Wiesman.
Also surviving her are the loves of her life — 15 grandchildren: Kathleen Wiesman, Tara (Rudy) Cuellar,
Travis Wiesman, Tearney (Chris) Woodruff, Taylor "Mac" (Anna) Wiesman, William (Lisa) Wiesman, Bobbie
Jean Wiesman, Anna (Jeremy) Griffin, Amanda (R.J.) Gibson, Carla (Cory) Settle, Audrey (Brian) Ambridge,
Kathryn (Tom) Cecil, Alan Jacob Wiesman, Nicolette Wiesman, and Victoria Wiesman; and 11 greatgrandchildren:
Mikaela, Riley, Zachary, and Georgia Settle; Kyle and Nicole Wiesman; Lukas Gibson, Charlie
and Lauren Mayer, Aurora Woodruff, and Avery Ambridge. She is also survived by her three sisters Dorothy
Kuhn, Therese Russell, and Jeanette Walker, along with several nieces and nephews.
Mary Barbara was born in San Benito, Texas, to John and Irene (Foelker) Kuhn and grew up in Lozano,
Texas. She attended Rio Hondo schools and graduated as valedictorian at St. Mary's High School in San
Antonio, Texas. She was very active in St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Rio Hondo as a Eucharistic minister,
lector, church choir and altar society member. Mary Barbara was also the business manager for the Rio Hondo
Independent School District for 26 years.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff of Retama Manor and the wonderful,
compassionate team of nurses and doctors on the 3rd and 4th floor of Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Del Angel Funeral Home, 2906 S. Expressway 77/83, Harlingen, Texas.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Friday, March 20 with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Del Angel
Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, Rio Hondo, on Saturday,
March 21, 2015, at 10 A.M.. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Cemetery in San Benito, TX. Pallbearers will be
grandsons William Wiesman, Travis Wiesman, Jacob Wiesman, Taylor "Mac" Wiesman, and Rudy Cuellar and
Brian Ambridge. Honorary Pallbearers are Tom Cecil, R. J. Gibson, Cory Settle, and Chris Woodruff.
