Regina M. Cholick

Regina worked closely with her husband, Johnny, to establish a successful farming business. She was very involved in her church, St. Helen Catholic Church, where she was an organist for many years and was active in the altar society. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Mom, you are now at peace, no more suffering, no more pain. Rest in the arms of Jesus, who was always your source of comfort.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John P. Cholick; parents, Albert L. and Mary E. Bauer; brothers, Isidore, Arthur, Anthony, and Albert Bauer.

Regina is survived by her sons, Albert Cholick, Thomas (Donna) Cholick; daughter, Diane Cholick; grandchildren, Carrie (Todd) England, Christopher, John, and Brian Cholick, Kim (Marcus) Bartlett, Benjamin (Betsy) Cholick, James (Kelly) Cholick, Thomas A. Cholick, Carissa Cholick; great-grandchildren, Lily and Cash England, Kelly and Riley Bartlett, Anabelle Kate Cholick; sister, Edna (Frank) Mitch; brothers, Carl (Tootie) Bauer, Edward (Mary Ann) Bauer; sisters-in-law, Laura Bauer, Joanie Bauer; and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Special thanks to Melissa Sauceda, Monica Valladares, Brajesh Bhatla, M.D., Brian O’Donnell, M.D., John Partin, M.D., and Chandler Deal, M.D. for their care of Mom. Also a special thanks to the nurses of Odyssey Hospice and all the nurses at Valley Baptist Medical Center who cared for Mom while she was in the hospital.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 10:00a.m. until 9:00p.m. with the holy rosary to be prayed at 7:00p.m. at Funeraria del Angel, Harlingen, TX. The family will be present to receive friends and relatives at 5:00p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 10:00a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, TX. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park, San Benito, TX.
