Annie Ireland Campbell

Annie Ireland Campbell, 93 years old, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on January 17, 2016. Annie was born in Iredell County on February 9, 1922 to the late Dock and Lorena (Cash) Ireland.

Annie throughout her career worked in the textile industry and was a cook at various cafés in the area. Mrs. Campbell was an active member of Union Grove United Methodist Church, Union Grove, NC and various local organizations. She loved to read the Bible and after reading the Bible, she would give it out as a gift to family and friends. She frequently ate at the Burger Barn, the Cook Shack and other cafés in the area.

Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George “Pappy” Campbell; her brothers, Fred, Willie and J.D. Ireland; her sisters, Mamie Tutterow, Sally Baker and Zelda Jordan.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Virginia Ireland of Union Grove and Susie Ireland of Statesville and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday January 21, 2016 at Union Grove United Methodist Church from 10-11am. The funeral service will begin at 11am. The family pallbearers will be Dennis Gilreath, Joey Ireland, Brandon Jennings, Billy Joe Jordan, Jamie Sloan and June Tutterow. Burial will follow in Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Family is requesting that no flowers be sent, but instead make a donation in Annie's memory to the Union Grove United Methodist Church 1331 Sloans Mill Rd. Union Grove, NC 28689.
