
She was born April 14, 1946, in Davie County and was the daughter of the late John H. and Hazel Wall Whitaker. She was a faithful and devoted homemaker who took great joy in cooking and caring for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Rex Allen Trivette; a son-in-law, Avery Renegar; a granddaughter, LeAnn McNiel; two sisters, Faye McCrary and Nancy Whitaker; a half-sister, Mary McDaniels; and a half-brother, Charles Whitaker.
She is survived by her husband, Linnie LeRoy Trivette whom she married on December 23, 1961; a son, Terry (Beth) Trivette; two daughters, Sandra McNiel and Teresa Renegar, all of Harmony; seven brothers and sisters, Bobbie Walls of Mocksville, John H. Whitaker of Cleveland, Martin Whitaker of Statesville, Mitchell (Gail) Whitaker, Luicelle Wall, and Linda (Gary) Bassinger, all of Salisbury, and Bessie Whitaker of Harmony; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service celebrating Sally’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Rock Spring Baptist Church in Harmony with the Rev. Billy Manners and the Rev. Randy Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home and will speak with friends following the service at the church.
