Elaine Elizabeth Steele Holland

She was born November 7, 1947, in Iredell County and was the daughter of Marion Lee Queen Steele and the late Gurnie Samuel Steele. Prior to her disability retirement, she worked with Lexington and Baker Furniture Companies in Mocksville. She was a member of Grace Bible Church in Harmony and enjoyed crocheting, reading and painting.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanne Shook.

She is survived by a son, Matthew “Matt” C. Holland and his fiancé, Nicole Rote; her mother, Marion Queen Steele of Harmony; two brothers, Steve (Anita) Steele and Richard (Gail) Steele, all of Harmony; a sister, Judy (Ken) Ward of Statesville; special friends, Linda Taylor of Statesville and Brenda Crosby of Harmony; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved dearly.

Funeral service celebrating Elaine’s life will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 15, 2014, in the Ernest Troutman Memorial Chapel at Reavis Funeral Home of Harmony with the Revs. Kenneth Sechlar and Bobby Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM this evening (Tuesday, January 14) at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence.
