Luna Marie Sloan Trivette

She was born April 23, 1925, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Raymond Fieldon and Cordie McHargue Sloan. She was a devoted and faithful homemaker and enjoyed gardening. She was long-time active member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Hamptonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on September 6, 2013, by her husband, Thomas Rezin Trivette, whom she married on October 20, 1949; a sister, Laverne Sloan Holcomb; and a brother, Newland Sloan.

She is survived by two sons, Dale (Kay) Trivette of Hamptonville and Tony Trivette of Harmony; a brother, Maynard C. Sloan of Hamptonville; two grandchildren, George Trivette of Harmony and Wendy (Danny) Fusco of Weaverville; and two great-granddaughters, Madelyn and Abby Fusco.

Funeral service celebrating Marie’s life will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Byers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

George Trivette, H.C. Nicholson, Joe Barron, Danny Fusco, Darrell Holcomb and Sonny Gentry will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive the friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
