

She was born June 17, 1937, in Yadkin County and was the daughter of the late Alvin and Madge Long Swisher. She retired from Monleigh Garments, Inc. in Mockville and later worked in the deli at Food Lion in Mocksville. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sewing, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Edward Richardson, Sr., whom she married on February 4, 1966; two daughters, Colleen Richardson and Tammy Richardson; a son, Eddie (Summer) Richardson, Jr.; two grandchildren, Scotti Richardson and Meghan Richardson, all of Harmony; three sisters, Nancy Steelman and Zelma (Roy) Eddleman, both of Harmony and Nellie Wagoner of Hamptonville; and two brothers, Fred (Brenda) Swisher of Mocksville and Francis (Laura) Swisher of Hamptonville.
Funeral service celebrating Mary’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 20, 2013, in the Ernest Troutman Memorial Chapel of Reavis Funeral Home of Harmony with the Rev. Randy Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery.
Todd Cranfill, Trent Cranfill, Justin Cranfill, Perry Cranfill, Jeremy Craney, Francis Swisher, Roy Eddleman, and Richard Howell will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 PM this evening (Saturday) at Reavis Funeral Home of Harmony, and at other times will be gathered at the home of the daughters, 304 Cranfill Road, Harmony.
