Nancy Tharpe Wood

Born in Iredell County on October 4, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Don Carlos Tharpe and Geneva Head Tharpe.

Mrs. Wood graduated from Harmony High School and worked as a seamstress at Piedmont Garment Company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, J.C. Tharpe and one infant brother; her husband, James Edwin Tharpe in 2007 and one son, David Wood in 2011.

Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Ricky Wood of Harmony; two daughters, Lisa (Bill) Link of Taylorsville and Brandie (Ruben) Tamayo of Harmony; two grandchildren, B.J. Link and Audrey Tamayo; two special girls, Ashleigh Campbell and Alexandria Holmes and two sisters, Doris (Don) Parsons and Rachel Ireland, both of Harmony.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM at Ernest M. Troutman Memorial Chapel in Harmony.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Ernest M. Troutman Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Harmony Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the nurses and staff of Rosewood Assisted Living for their love and care shown to Mrs. Wood and the entire family.
