HAMPTONVILLE- Mrs. Ricky G. Troutman, 70, went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
Born January 21, 1947 in Iredell County, she was the daughter to the late Hugh and Ophelia Campbell Gaither. Mrs. Ricky loved her Lord, her family, and her church family very much. She was a homemaker, enjoyed helping her husband around the farm, and taking care of family and friends. She never met a stranger and was always more concerned about others than herself. Even when she did not feel good herself, she would always go out of her way to help others, even if it was just by holding the door open for them.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Gaither.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 50 years, Ralph Troutman, children, Melissa Josey and Jamie Troutman; grandchildren, Ashley and Caitlin Josey; great-grandson, Ethan Taylor; brother, Johnny (Sandra) Gaither and twin brother, Mickey Gaither; sister-in-law, Peggy Gaither and nieces, nephews and other family members.
A celebration of Mrs. Ricky's life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 11am at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall after the burial.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Pam Sholar and staff, Infusion Care Center Staff, Cardiac Rehab Staff, Iredell Nursing Staff, and Iredell Outpatient Rehab Staff for all the love, compassion and hugs they shared with Mrs. Ricky through her fight. Also, to the Gordon Hospice House Staff for the genuine love and care they showed Mrs. Ricky and the family.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made to Gordon Hospice House 2341 Simonton Road, Statesville, North Carolina 28625 or Matthew 25 Ministries of Harmony PO Box 206 Harmony, NC 28634.
