She was born October 23, 1957, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late Horrace Edward Johnson “Buster” and Sally Juanita Johnson. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she enjoyed the fellowship of her brothers and sisters in Christ. She was an employee of Triumph Actuation System in Winston-Salem. Teresa always wore an infectious smile and was known for her heart of unselfish giving. To her children they always found love, comfort and wisdom in her and would never leave her down or without a smile on their face. To her grandchildren, they found comfort in her loving arms as she expressed her endless love for them. She was very passionate about her grandchildren and served as an inspiration to her children and family. She was a role model and exhibited a close relationship with her nieces, Amy Norman Galliher and Wendy Norman Cheek. Krista Norman, great niece, found Teresa to be an example and a woman of faith in her life. Teresa and Mayford symbolized what a family should be through their illustration of love for one another. Teresa’s hobbies included riding her horses, Dusty and Caine with her granddaughters, playing with her dogs, Benny, June, and Sam, and cooking as well as entertaining her family and friends. She was full of life, energy and wisdom as she carried a positive attitude throughout her daily walk of life. She was considered the “rock” of their family. She resembled the “Virtuous woman” as stated in the bible in Proverbs 31. Teresa was a testimony to everyone she came in contact with and encouraged them daily through text messages, phone calls, cards, bible verses, and prayers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father in law Roscoe Wyatt of Statesville, brothers James Edward Johnson “Sonny”, Randy Dale Johnson, Stanley Craig Johnson, and Gary Dean Johnson.
